Milwaukee Decoy Show

The Milwaukee decoy show offically has been set for the first weekend in December and has been moved to a new location, the Country Springs Hotel. Room-to-room trading will be all day on Thursday & Friday. The hotel is offering a special room rate of $109.If you plan to sell at the show you'll need a room as there is no mention of a display area. Decoys Unlimited will conduct the annual decoy auction this year offering approximately 400 decoys featuring the late Art Hansen collection. Contact Ted Harmon for auction information and catalogs.

Minnesota Decoy Collectors Show 
February 2&3, 2007

Location: Thunderbird Hotel, 2201 E. 78th street Bloomington, Minnesota

This show kicks off the decoy show season and is sponsored by the Minnesota Decoy Collectors Association, features room-to-room trading beginning on Thursday night. The show, consisting of over 100 tables and held in the Hotel's "Hall of Tribes" room, opens for members on Friday afternoon, and reopens for the public on Saturday morning. The show also features contests for "Best Birds" in categories such as antique factory, antique carved, decorative and modern working decoys. An auction be held Friday evening. The MDCA board goes out of its way to make the collectors feel welcome and create an atmosphere of 'good ole fashion midwest hospitality' with home-cooked treats in hospitlality suite after Friday night's show. Collectors gather here for R&R and share decoy tales well into the night!

Henry Decoy Show
February 10, 2008

Location: Senachwine High School, Henry, Illinois



This one day event is one of the oldest Midwest decoy shows. Held on the second Sunday in February, this show has grown to a sizable event with the high school gymnasium packed full of display tables, collectors, local area residents and great decoys. The scenic drive to Henry, located in the heart of the old Illinois River duck hunting region, makes the whole experience even that much more enjoyable. 
Table registeration (prepaid $30)is now available. Breakfeast will be available and set-up starts at 5:30 a.m. for exhibitors and staff only.

Edgerton Decoy Show

February 9, 2008

Location: Tri-county Community Center, Edgerton, Wisconsin

Everyone is glad to hear Tom Neal will continue the show his father, Jim ran for years before his untimely death. This one-day show is within easy driving distance from Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison. Always held the second Saturday in February. Starting time is 8:00am and the show ends at 4:00pm. Display tables are set up in the Community Center for trading and sales.

Wisconsin Decoy Collector's: Mid-Winter Gathering

March 8, 2008
Location: Hilton Garden Inn in Oshkosh, Wisconsin

This show started in a small tarvern in Fond du Lac, soon grew this location and for year was held at the Pioneer Inn on Lake Winnebago. Then this grand ole resort Inn was closed and the decoy show moved to the Hilton Garden Inn right off Interstate 43. This show has retained the friendly atmosphere of the old decoy shows include a great hospitality suite where collectors can gather over drinks and super food during the evening prior to the show. Room-toroom trading is encourage Wenesday through Thurday. Exhibitors include old decoy collectors, contemporary wildlife artist and decoy carvers..

Ohio Decoy Show

March 13-16, 2008

Location: Westlake Holiday Inn, 1100 Crocker Road, Westlake, Ohio (440) 871-6000

The Ohio show features both vintage and decorative decoys. The rooms containing antique decoys are situated mostly around the first floor pool area of the hotel. Room-to-room trading begins Thursday and continues throughout the show. There is usually a decoy seminar on some aspect or region of collecting. This years show will feature a new CASH & CARRY auction at 1 PM presented by Guyette & Schmidt Inc. G&S will also present a pereview of decoys that will be sold at their Spring Sale April 23 & 24 held at the Pheasant Run Resort, St Charles, IL. There are also several categories of vintage and decorative bird judging contests with ribbons awarded to the winners.

Midwest Decoy Collectors Association Convention

April 25 & 26, 2008

Considered by many to be THE national Decoy show, drawing collectors from across the USA, Canada and even Europe, the show is held at the spacious Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois, there will be literally hundreds of rooms open for room-to-room trading beginning as early as Monday and Tuesday nights and the "fever" builds throughout the week. Guyette & Schmdit, Inc. hold their Spring Decoy Auction at Pheasant Run Resort this same week on Thursday and Friday. The show, held in the large Mega-Center, features almost 400 tables filled with decoys and other sporting collectibles. Show hours will be from 2:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday and 9:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday.

The Northwest Decoy Show has moved to a new location which will hopefully become a permanent site for this show. 50 tables are offered for displays. The Washington Brant Foundation will put on a show nearby at the Farmhouse Inn restraunt. Sounds like a fun day of activies for any waterfowler and/or collector! Set-up is 7-9 am. The show opens to the general public 9 am- 4 pm: Admission $3

The Chilicothe Show is a great Summer break for Midwest Colledctors held in the large well ventilated Three Sisters Park Pavillion located on the edge of Chillicothe, Illinois in a super duck hunting area. Come and spend a day looking good sellection of outdoor sporting collectibles.

Set-up is at 6 am. Tables (Approximately 8 foot)or 8 foot set up space is $25.

Monroe Sporting Collectibles Show

The Monroe Sporting Collectibles Show and World fish carving Competition are now presented together by the Great Lakes Fish Decoy Collectors and Carvers Association offering room-to-room tradiingall day on Thursday and Friday.
